The Slower Steep

Why tea belongs in your pack, your mug, and your quiet moments outdoors.

Not every morning starts with a jolt.
Some start with steam. With stillness. With something warm cradled between your hands while the forest shakes off the night.

That’s where tea comes in.

At Lonely Larch, we love our coffee—but tea hits different. It’s slower. Softer. A little more sit and stay awhile than go, go, go. And when you're out in the woods, sometimes that’s exactly the vibe you need.

Tea for the Trail

Tea isn’t just for rainy afternoons and grandma’s china cabinet. It’s lightweight, easy to pack, and needs nothing but hot water and a little patience.

And unlike some energy drinks or overdone camp coffees, tea doesn’t punch you in the face. It shows up gently and reminds you to breathe.

Perfect for:

  • Slow trail mornings

  • Midday lake breaks

  • Wind-down moments at camp

  • Watching the sunrise with someone you love (or a very patient dog)

Our Forest-Inspired Favorites

🌿 Harvest Apple Cider Rooibos
Sweet, spiced, and caffeine-free. Like fall in a cup—no matter what season you're in.

🍂 Alpine Ridge Earl Grey
Bergamot meets mountain mist. Strong enough to carry a conversation. Subtle enough for solitude.

🔥 First Light Chai
Warming spices with just enough kick to cut through the morning fog. Makes your tent smell like magic.

Brewing Tips (Backcountry Edition)

  • Bring a camp kettle or boil water in a pot—tea doesn’t need much.

  • Use a reusable steeping pouch or compostable bags (ours are fully compostable, by the way).

  • Don’t over-steep. Most blends are happy around 3–5 minutes. Let the flavor unfold—no rushing.

Optional: add a splash of milk or a drizzle of maple syrup if you’re feeling extra cozy.

Why Tea, Though?

Because not every adventure needs to be loud.
Because the woods are full of quiet things worth listening to.
Because sometimes the most radical act is resting, even if it’s just for a cup.

So yeah, coffee will always have a place in our hearts (and our mugs). But tea? Tea is our pause button. Our slow exhale. Our way of soaking in the moment.

Next time you pack for the trail, don’t forget the leaves.

Drink up. Speak up. Let’s keep it wild out there. 🌲
