Enchantment Roast- Fairtrade® Sumatra

Bold as granite peaks, yet smooth as an alpine lake at dawn. Enchantments Roast is our tribute to Washington’s alpine wilderness—crafted from Fairtrade® certified beans grown in the volcanic highlands of Sumatra.

These beans come from the Gayo Arabika Mahkota Indonesia (GARMINDO) cooperative, where 548 smallholder farmers cultivate a diverse mix of Bourbon, Caturra, Catimor, Lini, Tim Tim, and Typica varietals at 1,200–1,500 meters above sea level. The rich volcanic loam soils of Bener Meriah Regency in Aceh District, combined with careful wet-hulling and sun-drying, give this coffee its signature profile: earthy, cocoa-forward, with layered herbal spice and a clean, grounding finish.

Harvested twice a year, from March–July and October–January, these beans are grown with care and certified Fairtrade®, ensuring farmers and forests both thrive.

Every bag of Enchantments Roast carries a bigger purpose too: alongside our ongoing conservation commitment, an additional 1% of profits from this roast goes directly to protecting the fragile alpine landscapes of the Enchantments in Washington through our partner TREAD, and their One for the Outdoor program!
